Since 2011 started...

We have been soo busy over summer! Main activities outside of the everyday necessities have involved: gardening, house maintenance, painting, clearing, making space, hosting wwoofers from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, America, Canada, travelling to Australia for nearly 2 weeks (Lennnox and myself) which is a whole big adventure in itself, beaching and more beaching and swimming and surfing, fishing, reading, music, lunches with friends, art, writing.

Specific educational experiences of late:
Timo (and Caoimhe and Lennox) - finding out about gas and air and this relative to the story of the Hindenburg, wind, insects, reptiles, great imaginative creations using K-nex and sending robots to space for the purpose of photography; Mo Willems books a great hit and inspiring reading to self and out loud for the first time, mathematics - realising a faster way to count in twos - discovered this with pegs on guitar. Caoimhe thought about the letter *G* and concluded that her wee friend Georgie should be pronounced Georgie using a g sound as in goat. Very funny to witness squabbles amongst T and C about letters and words and how things should be spelled and pronounced. Lennox is well and truly on the move and exploring in new ways, also discovering various forms of weaponry - anything that resembles stick form seems to be good, language development, main words "yeah", "mum" "dad", screaming to get point across, especially it seem to tell brother sister to "back off".

The parents - new gardening methods - One Straw Revolution inspired. Art revelations - framing and layering and process in general. A great trip and exploration into Aboriginal art whilst in Australia.
